Educate Liberia Inc. was birthed out of our desire to save Liberia’s children from degradation in the name of getting an education. In 2018, after consideration of the physical/mental abuse of students, excessively low test scores on the WAEC Exam, unstable learning conditions, deplorable classroom environments , and poor performance of our Liberian schools, a group of ladies heeded to the invitation of Dr. Clarice Ford-Kulah, to discuss the possibility of creating an educational program that would assist the Liberian Education System in improving its learning outcomes. Reports of the aforementioned rocked our worlds and we knew that something had to be done, and that something had to be done by us, a team of strong, educated Liberian women with the ability to create life-long learners in an environment that was free of harm and danger. With that began a 6-month long planning phase that proved to be very successful. As we reasoned together, we remembered the Liberia we left behind as we fled our 14 year civil war. We reminisced of a Liberia where the education system was strong, whereby once you left and matriculated to a program abroad, you knew you were well prepared. We remembered a time when our students thrived in school and did exceptionally well on tests and exams. As mothers, we concurred, this is the Liberia that we want back. At this juncture, we set out to save our children and regain the Liberia we once knew. Today, we stand as EDUCATE LIBERIA INC, an NGO dedicated to providing Excellent Education in Every Classroom.
